Toronto: McClelland and Stewart, 1955. Grey cloth. pp (xx), 312, maps in text. Fine copy. The thin dust jacket has small chips, tears, and slight rubbing, to spine ends; illustrated portion of spine a bit sunned; short tear to lower inner corner of rear panel; a little rubbing to front flap fold; VG otherwise and in fact substantially better than usually seen. Mowat's second book, an account of his service during WWII with the Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment (The "Hasty P's"), an infantry regiment based in Picton, Ontario, that saw hard fighting in Sicily, Italy, and Northwestern Europe. The book is uncommon in first edition.. First printing.. Hardcover. Octavo.
