About This Item
Urbana & Chicago: University of Illinois Press, 1993. First Edition, first printing. A remarkable presentation copy from Schmitz, to his wife: "9 May '93 Mother's Day. To my beautiful helpmate, Mary Jane [nee English] without whom life would be very bleak. She had much to do with this book and I am deeply indebted. Long may we live to enjoy the melodic music we make together. With much love, Bob." Robert died in 2012 and his wife in 2019. A terrific association copy in a book that is rarely found signed at all. Tall 8vo., black cloth in dust jacket; 207 pages. Illustrated.. Fine condition in a very nice d/j.
