About This Item

New York: Reynal and Company in Association with William Morrow & Company, 1968. First edition. Large folio, 11" by 14.5". 527 pages. Cream linen cloth covered boards with gilt "R" in a red panel to the front cover and gilt titled spine. Produced in the craft conscious shops of the Dutch book industry. A magnificent book with 80 full color plates and over 650 black-and-white reproductions. "Many years in preparation, Rembrandt Paintings is a definitve presentation of the master's work....Of no less interest than the text itself are the complete catalogue illustrations and the thoroughly documented catalogue, with its totally frank discussions of authenticity by an unrivaled connoisseur." The book itself is fine. There are two dustjackets, a pictorial paper jacket with rubbing and wear at spine ends, and a second jacket of clear acetate with the title printed in white lettering which has a one inch by three inch piece missing on the bottom edge. Overall a very pleasing copy. This massive book weighs 10.5 pounds and will require extra shipping. . First Edition. Hard Cover. Fine/Very Good. Folio - over 12" - 15" tall.
