Reminiscences Of A Portrait Painter

by Healy, George P. A

Condition: Good

A. C. McClurg and Company. Chicago. 1894. 221 pages plus 2 pages of publishers ads at the end. The tan covers are in good minus condition. They are frayed around the edges and dirty/soiled in certain spots. The spine is most soiled and faded, the title and author barely readable. On the front cover, the decorative illustration, title and author are in gold and still quite vivid. The top/bottom of spine are bumped. The binding is solid, although the spine is a bit rolled. The interior of the book is in good plus condition. The pages are clean with some mild toning in spots. There is no foxing or significant staining detected. The only writing is a previous owners name and date on the front free endpaper; there is a bookplate of the same owner on the inside front cover. The book includes a frontis and 20 illustrations which are black/white portraits. All illustrations are present and in good plus condition; they include portraits of Abraham Lincoln, John James Audubon, and Pope Pius IX of Rome.
