REO Heavy duty logging trucks.

Self-printed colour-illustrated softcovers, w/ nose of 1940 Reo streamlined truck on front cover (slight shelfwear), NF copy. First edition of this scarce catalogue of the 1940 Heavy Duty logging trucks produced by REO Motors as they pulled out of their factory shutdown in 1939. The 1940 models -- Model NWL 41 and Model OSL 41 weighing in at 40000 and 35000 gross lbs. respectively, featured new streamlined styling and front cowl, new instrument panel, and more rugged transmission. Of special interest is the “Truck Performance Slide Rule” introduced by the Reo Company sales reps to better recommend particular truck models, with illustration. Within less than 2 years all civilian truck production stopped and Reo turned to producing 5-ton and 7-ton tractors for the US Navy, as well as 3 1/2 ton and buss chassis.
