Washington: Printed by Kneeland & Green for S. Gerrish, 1856. Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 784, 380pp. Black blind-stamped cloth, gilt spine lettering. Both volumes show almost no wear, tiny bit of insecting to hinges of Volume 2, endpapers foxed, portions of contents tanned and lightly foxed, binding is tight, gilt on spines is very bright. Both volumes are in a well-preserved state. Half of Volume 2 consists of diagrams of mechanical devices.

Washington DC: Cornelius Wendell, Printer, 1856. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Good-. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover. Blindstamped on all sides with large deep embossing and gilt to spine. Exterior shows edge and corner bumps/wear along with scuffing and soiling. Internal binding is good and pages are secure. Paper is toned due to age and foxing is present throughout. The first few pages along with last couple of pages show fingerprints and dampstains. Previous owner's name written lightly in pencil on front end page. Page 65 has a 1" tear on the fore edge. This volume contains three color plates along with maps of Haarlem Lake before and after draining and numerous b&w illustrations.

Washington DC: Beverly Tucker, Printer, 1855. 1st Edition . Hardcover. VG+. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover. Blindstamped on all sides with large deep embossing stating SENATE DOCUMENT on front and rear boards. These publications or print for the members of both the house and the senate, with this edition being the rarer of the two as there are less members in the senate than the house of representatives. Exterior is in exceptional shape for its age showing only minimal edge and corner bumps. Interior pages show quite a bit of foxing, some pages severe, and some pages are browned to two different types of paper used. Binding good, no hinge cracks, no torn or loose pages. Both color plates are present (plates 1 and 2). Backside of plate eight shows minor ink spots where it appears a paper was put in between pages before the ink was dry. Boards still have original shine. See photos.
