About This Item
The Royal Society, London, 1909. First Edition. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. Signed. 235 pages plus charts at rear (complete). The frontispage has a label from The Physics Laboratory of the South African College (now UCT) which was signed by Beattie (dated: 31/3/1910). A previous owner has thoughtfully pasted a clipped photographic portrait of Beattie, on to the same page. The boards are amiable in their venerability. They have some scuffing, marks, wear. The cloth spine has sunning, wear, storage marks. The boards and spine are healthy and steady. The contents are tranquil. The early and later pages have foxing. The papertrims are also foxed. Nonetheless, the pages are very assured, clean, clear, tidy, just a little aged, confident and agreeable. Please note that due to the weight of the book, should the book need be posted to the outside of South Africa, extra postal charges may be required. fk. Our orders are shipped using tracked courier delivery services.
