Front board with onlayed reproduction of one of the book's colour plates in gilt and six different coloured leathers. Green endpapers illustrated with white silhouettes. Top edge gilt. Neat previous owners name and address stamp to top of front free endpaper. Minor rubbing to the edges but overall a very good copy of this beautiful delux edition.

Navarre Society. London. 1948. FACSIMILE MAJOR EDITION. 8vo. Illustrated with 74 fine wood engravings, by many artists, throughout the text. Fine leather binding by Zaehnsdorf of full dark green morocco. Spine with raised bands, ruled in gilt. The compartments are ruled, lettered and decorated in gilt. Single gilt ruled border on boards. Gilt inner dentelles. Marbled endpapers. All edges gilt. Previous owners bookplate on rear blank endpaper. Spine a little faded but overall a near fine, attractive copy.

Macmillan and Co. London. 1903. EARLY THOMSON EDITION. 8vo. (7.8 x 5.4 inches). Illustrated with 40 full page line drawings. Publishers original burgundy cloth with decorative blind stamped floral design to both boards, the front board lettered and ruled in gilt. Spine ruled and lettered in gilt. Page edges untrimmed. Internally a fine bright and clean copy throughout. A little rubbing to the binding extremities and just a hint of fading to the spine but overall a very good, bright copy. Becoming increasingly difficult to find in collectable condition in the publishers cloth.

Edward Moxon & Co. London. 1866. TWELFTH EDITION. 8vo. (6.8 x 4.2 inches). Finely bound contemporary full dark green morocco binding. Decorative flower and leaf design to the top and bottom of both boards and a single gilt ruled border to the centre. Board edges with gilt ruling. Spine with five raised bands. The compartments with gilt ruled lines, flower and leaf designs and lettering. Triple gilt ruled lines to the turn-ins. Marbled endpapers. All edges gilt. Previous owners neat inscription, dated 1867, to the half title page. A lovely copy in a beautiful Victorian decorative leather binding. The binding is unsigned but the work of a skilled bookbinder.

Tissue guard to frontis illustration. A fine copy in a fine leather binding by Bayntun (Riviere) of Bath. Full dark blue morocco. Spine with five raised bands, each with 3 gilt leaves. Compartments ruled, lettered and decorated in gilt. Both boards have ruled and doted line borders with elaborate floral corner decorations. Board edges with flower and dot roll in gilt. Inner gilt dentelles. Marbled endpapers. All edges gilt. Two navy blue silk bookmarks sewn in. Neat previous owners bookplate to the front pastedown endpaper. A fine, beautifully bound copy.

C. Bathurst, W. Strahan, J and F. Rivington.... London. 1770. NINE VOLUMES. 8vo. Illustrated with 24 copper engravings. Very good bright set bound in contemporary full tan calf, spines ruled in gilt. Each volume with red morocco title label, decorated and lettered in gilt. Some rubbing and chipping to most volumes and a few hinges cracked but all still holding. Overall an attractive set of eighteenth century bindings. Previous owners bookplate on front paste downs.

Published at The Hampshire House Workshops, Hampshire Hog Lane, Hammersmith, London. 1915. FIRST EDITION. 8vo. (7.5 x 5.2 inches). Illustrated with 12 wood engravings. One of 1500 copies. Inscribed by Gill on the front free endpaper "Eric Gill for H. Davis, 22.3.28" A very good copy in original grey canvas spine, lettered in black, with red paper covered boards with black lettering and illustration to the front board. Some loss to the paper on the boards, affecting 7 letters of the address at the bottom. Spine with just a little darkening. Overall a very good copy. Uncommon inscribed by Gill. --Evan Gill. The compartments with gilt ruled lines, flower and star designs and lettering. Decorative flower and leaf designs to both boards, within a wavy line border which is surrounded by multiple stars, within a ruled line border, all in gilt. Elaborate gilt tooled stars, flowers and decorative roll borders to the inner boards with off-white moire silk endpapers. All edges gilt. Previous owners neat inscription, dated 1914, to the front blank free endpaper. Spine faded to an attractive tan colour and the front board to a lighter green but still a beautiful fine binding from the library of W. A. A few spots of foxing to the fore edge otherwise a very good clean copy throughout, finely bound in recent half dark green morocco, raised bands, the compartments ruled, lettered and decorated in gilt. Marbled paper on boards. An attractively leather bound copy of this classic of American literature.
