Benito Mussolini ordered, inter alia, a resurgence of classical Latin and Greek literature. Augustus Caesar had his deeds, or Res Gestae, engraved on monuments not only in Rome but in other parts of the Roman Empire. This treatise examines his deeds on those monuments and includes photographs of them. In Latin and Greek, depending on which monument is the subject.

The date on the title is MDCCCCXXXVII XV A FASC. RESTIT. (1937, the 15th of the Fascist Restoration.)
