Garden City, New York: Garden City Publishing Co., Inc., 1945. Reprint. Hardcover. Good/good. 483 pages with index, illustrated with black and white plates. The story of the city of Washington and of President Abraham Lincoln and Mary Todd Lincoln during the Civil War. Blue cloth binding with gilt titles on spine, map of Washington in 1861 on end papers in blue. Cover tanned along edges, spine a little faded, light edge wear, some bumping of corners and spine ends, former owner's name and city in ink facing half title, interior pages lightly tanned but clean, binding tight. Illustrated red jacket with blue titles on front cover and spine has a few short edge tears and chips along edge, a little wear along folds, minor spotting and scuffs, clipped at top and bottom of both inner folds, pinholes along spine edge of dust jacket.
