Beautiful engraved frontispiece view of a bucolic scene, a gabled roof cottage with cattle and a vista of the water. Drawn by Lieut. Harwood, Engraved at J. Andrews. Includes a biography of the poet Cynthia Taggart [1801-1849] with some of her letters and poems.
Manuscript presentation to S. R. Johnson by Mrs. J. B. Britten Aug. 30. 1838 with secondary 1878 inscription. 16mo, 108pp, maroon cloth faded to brown at spine, spine chipped at head/foot, title piece on front cover. Scattered fox spotting at endpapers, internally clean. Sabin 71140. OCLC: 12527185 at 12 libraries.
