London: Andre Deutsch. Near Fine in Very Good- dust jacket. 1994. First Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. 0233988432 . Blue cloth-covered boards with Bright Gilt titling. Slight 'pushing' to the foot of the spine due to storage, but no damage. In the original publishers' pictorial dust-jacket. Dust-jacket NOT Price clipped, but has a long repaired/closed tear to the rear flap/rear corner. NO INSCRIPTIONS or Marks. Just some light uniform 'toning' to the page edges as often found with age/type of paper. The endpapers are clear and white & obviously printed on a different paper stock. "The biography and exciting life of this enigmatic Welsh author, a poet, playwright, actor-manager, adventurer and popular author of 'A High Wind in Jamaica'. Friend to many literary and artistic giants of the day, including John Masefield, T. E Lawrence, Robert Graves, Hilda Vaughan, Augustus John and Dylan & CaitlinThomas, etc, etc..." . (Absolutely fascinating info on the meeting of Dylan and Caitlin. ! ). Apart from the light page edge 'toning' to the page edges, NO inscriptions or marks. (xvi) + 491 pages including Notes, Index, & Bibliography. Illustrated in black and white with two 'suites' of photo illustrations. Overall a Very Clean, Tight & Bright copy.
