1st edition, 2nd printing (Nov 1919). Good hardcover, no DJ. Brown cloth over boards; front cover and spine with black titles and blue highlights; tissue-guarded frontispiece. Clean, lightly scuffed covers and spine; rubbed at spine tail with small splits; tightly bound and square in case; owner name on front free end paper and on half title; clean interior with slight general age darkening; leaves remain supple.  Small bookseller's ticket on rear pastedown and lower inner corner. 12mo, 349 pp + 3 pp publisher's adverts.

Grosset & Dunlap, 1919 Reprint. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Reprint of the 1919 Little, Brown, and Company book by Grosset & Dunlap Publishers. Good ++ dust jacket over very good ++ dark brown cloth book. B. M. Bower was the pseudonym of Bertha Muzzy Sinclair-Cowan, who was born in Minnesota in 1871, moved to Montana with her family later, married three times, always to cowboys, and ranched in Montana, Nevada, and the Pacific Northwest. She died in 1940. Her books are known for their authentic cowboy detail, strong female characters, true-to-life plots, lack of violence, and subtle humor. This was one of her 57 novels. Since several of her novels were adapted for Hollywood films, she became friends with Gary Cooper, Tom Mix, and others from the film industry. Clean pages. Archival clear cover.. Hardcover.
