Rip Foster Rides the Gray Planet

by Savage, Blake

Condition: Very Good+/Very Good

Racine, Wisconsin: Whitman Publishing Company, 1952. 250 pages. Presumed first edition (1952). Medium blue hardcover with lettering and spaceship/planet design in light grey-blue and navy blue. Textblock edges dyed red are clean and bright. Pictorial endpapers with spaceships/outer space motif have literacy organization inkstamp; "From St Paul's Sunday School" neatly in ink facing title page; o/w clean throughout. Pulp paper is browning as usual, pages are supple, but a small 2mm chip to front endpaper probably signals brittleness of extreme edges. Dust jacket is bright and clean, very attractive wraparound cover art, with a little rubbing to surface and edges, a 4mm tiny chip to back panel, a few nicks, two short closed edge tears to front panel (2cm and less than 1cm). Overall, much nicer than one could possibly expect. Will be supplied, of course, in new archival wrapper.. Hard Cover. Very Good+/Very Good. Illus. by E. Deane Cate. 5.5 x 8 in. (14cm x 20cm).
