It appears to be first paper-bound edition, fourth printing, which was professionally re-bound in leather with raised bands, gilt titling on spine and marbled end papers. It is illustrated with eight pages of black and white plates and two black and white maps at back. 312 pages. Edges worn, sunning to spine and top of front board, top of spine split to both sides, three inches of bottom so spine are present but detached, split between front endpapers, owner's name inked to half title page.
