Dust jacket has some wrinkling and chipping on the edges and corners, some light scratches, and light shelf wear. Book has a few encircled words (in black ink) on pages 9, 11 and 16, lightly water soiled on pages 9 to 20, and light shelf wear. The debut thriller from the former head of Britain's MI5. Synopsis

Stella Rimington joined MI5 in 1965 and during her career worked in all the main fields of the organization – counter-subversion, counter-espionage and counter-terrorism – and became successively Director of all three branches. She was appointed Director-General of MI5 in 1992. Her autobiography Open Secret was published by Hutchinson in 2001.
