Very Good. 2 volumes, both rebound in handsome cream cloth and marbled boards, leather spine labels; very good, light soil to bindings, owner's name, bookplate, etc., original wraps bound in, texts clean and unmarked. 611 & 477 pp. The author was a priest, educator, humanist, historian and university professor (1879-1957). He taught History of Medieval Latin Literature at the University of Naples and in 1948, following a competition, became Professor of Ancient Christian Literature at the University of Bari where he also taught History of Christianity and medieval Latin literature. Uncommon set. Light foxing and yellowing to book binding and to edges of text block.
