London: Curwen Press for the Heritage Press of New York. Hardcover. Near Fine. Rene Ben Sussan. With introductory notes by John Mason Brown and Carl Van Doren and Illustrations by René Ben Sussan. No date noted, but circa 1956. Large 8vo, decorated cloth, red spine label, glassine wrapper (just a portion of the rear panel remains), slipcase, 333 pages, red top page edge, delightful color illustrations. Condition is NEAR FINE book in a VERY GOOD slipcase: book has no visible wear, faint toning to spine tail, clean and tight; the slipcase has some edgewear at top with a 2" split, light toning at fore-edge opening. A nice copy. The Rivals was first performed at the Covent Garden Theatre in 1775; School for Scandal was first performed at the Drury Lane Theatre in London in 1777.
