London: Longman's, Green & Co, 1903. First edition. cloth. Very good -. Octavo (8.5" x 5.5"), navy gilt-stamped pictorial cloth showing a cascade and a fish ladder. Top edge gilt. Illustrated with 10 photogravures by the author's wife, and a colored plan. 168pp. with index plus 40p. cataogue of Longman's publications. an attractive copy. There is moderate foxing mostly on the preliminaries. All but three plates have some foxing in the margins, but the photogravures remain sharp and enchanting. The color plan is not stained. Armorial bookplate of Francis Scott Smith. See Wood III, Bibliotheca Salmo Salar 33, shown.
