Minor bumping to spine ends of brown & white mottled boards, otherwise a good tight copy of this hard-cover book. Looks at the role of the horse in the cultural, social and economic development of Europe, including the role of the Central Asian peoples in introducing horsemanship to Europeans. Originally written in Hungarian and using sources which were largely unavailable to western European researchers, the book was originally published in German in 1968 as "Pferder, Reiter, Völkerstürme", this is the first UK edition translated by Anthony Dent. 176pp, over 120 b&w illustrations, also a few in colour.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good/Fair. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
