Translated From The French by Mary Mian. Illustrated history of Roquefort cheese. First edition and printing.This is Proof 1447 from print run of 5000. The illustrations are 'engraved on wood in color by Gerard Angiiolini from paintings by Yves Brayer'. In very good off-white self-covers with brown titles to front and back strip. The covers are tight and square, tanned around the edges; top of spine chipped. Unmarked end papers. Tanned cut edges; the fore edge is deckled. The text block is tightly bound, straight and with light foxing on a few pages, otherwise clean. No inscriptions etc. With most attractive illustrations from Gerard Angiiolini and Yves Brayer. Very good condition. No jacket.
