Frederick A. Stokes, 1910. First Thus. Fair/No Jacket. Frederick A. Stokes, 1910. Cloth shows wear and a bit of splitting at top and bottom spine edges, and wear at front corner tips. Bindind is cracked between pages 54 and 55, but no pages are loose. This book would be in good condition except that a child (hopefully) crayoned pictures on front paste down and ffep which have been partially erased. Also half-title page has a few stray crayon marks, several pages have some light crayon marks on the bottom margin, but pages 132 & 133 have heavy crayon marks on the bottom of each page. Very rare book even with crayon problems.. First Thus. Fair/No Jacket. Hard Cover.

Straight, tight and clean with no wear or markings in bright, pictorial card covers, no dustjacket as issued. The pieces in this collection, written between 1956 and 1961 and including short fiction, a radio play, and a stunning early novel, offer startling insights into Cohens imagination and creative process. Description:
The hard cover has seen a good amount of wear. The lettering on the cover is worn. The previous owner's name is written on the first page. The pages are tanning. With 766 pages of text, this biography quickly proves comprehensive, scholarly and extremely detailed. The breadth of the author's knowledge of Cleveland and his era is breathtaking and I can hardly imagine a more thorough or thoughtful review of this former president.Published twenty-four years after Cleveland's death, this biography benefits from a chronological proximity to its subject but lacks the perspective which can only be derived from the passage of time. Some bias in favor of Cleveland is clear and in the end Nevins overestimates the durability of Cleveland's legacy and lasting impression.
