One volume contains the verses selected by Cécile E. Mactaggart from the five different editions published by Fitzgerald, along with illustrations by Edmund Dulac and Willy Pogany. Red morocco with six spine compartments between raised bands; gilt-tooled spine title and decoration on spine and both boards and turn-ins. Top page edges gilt. Marbled endpapers. The title page of the other volume reads: Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám: A Personal Selection Compared to the Five Editions of Edward Fitzgerald's Translation. It contains an Introduction and Working Notes by Mactaggart, and the verses chosen by Mactaggart and those from the editions of 1859, 1868, 1879, and 1902, arranged in columns to facilitate comparison. Red cloth (20 x 29 cm.) in a clamshell box, which has a red morocco spine matching the first volume and red cloth over the remainder of the box matching the volume housed in it. Both the clamshell box and the slipcase are lined with white flannel. Both volumes are printed in red and black and are housed in a slipcase covered in red cloth matching the second volume, with insets on both sides of paper matching the endpapers of the first volume. This is no. 60 of a limited edition of 200 copies designed and printed at the Curwen Press on Chilham handmade paper, bound by Sangorski and Sutcliffe, and signed by the editor, Cecile E. Mactaggert. A beautifully bound and presented edition of The Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám. A heavy set; for international shipping, it will have to be sent by priority international. In Fine Condition: clean, crisp, and bright.

Housed in a blue paper coveredslip case which has some minor wear but has done its job of keeping the books protected. The slip case is felt lined and has a beige silk tie pull. The spines are just a touch faded and there are a couple of small scratches but overall this is an attractive and finely bound set of this important collection.

This edition is in very good condition internally. Photos of Ikebana arrangements by the famous Japan Ikebana master. A gift given to Julia Jeffers Dodge and placed in her library. 38 single sided (double page but other side blank) on high quality Japan paper with photo examples of Ikebana, black and white.
