Binding tight, spine creased and slightly worn/discoloured but otherwise good. Publisher price blacked out on spine and front cover. Foxing/staining and edgewear to covers. Prior seller's sticker and pricing partially erased, neat, on half-title page. Page block edges browned and foxed/spotter, light foxing to early/rear pages but text clean and free from foxing and annotation. Printed the year Virginia Woolf sold her share of The Hogarth Press to John Lehmann (to whom this novella is dedicated). Sappho Cathal 11/23

London: Hogarth Press, 1937. First Edition. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. First UK Edition. Publisher's blue cloth with black lettering. A near fine copy. The D/W is priced 3/6 net to the spine (as called for) and is VG indeed. The D/W is lightly browned to the cream portion of the spine (although the browning is much less pronounced than normally seen) and has a touch of rubbing at the spine tips. On the verso of the D/W a couple of short edge tears have been un-necessarily repaired leaving tape residue. There is also a virtually imperceptible closed tear at the top left hand corner of the rear panel adjacent to the rear flap. Notwithstanding these faults the D/W shows well and has no major loss or wear. Scans invited. A nice copy and very uncommon in D/W.

First edition, 12mo., pp.150, blue cloth lettered in black; very slight foxing to fore-edges, light rubbing to extremities (noticeable at headband), else fresh and near-fine, in unclipped dust-jacket, which has loss to head and foot of spine (apx. 6mm at head of spine, and up to 1cm irregularly at foot of spine), as well as small enclosed area of loss to spine, 2.8cm closed tear to front upper margin and 1cm closed tear to front lower margin, toning and water-marking to spine, light chipping to other extremities, nevertheless largely complete and otherwise very good - now in a protective cover.
