Accra, Ghana: Moxon Paperbacks Ltd, 1970. Small octavo, pictorial wrappers. First edition. First of two (?) Sammy Hayford stories, in which the schoolboy detective thwarts a gang of counterfeiters. Number 1 of the "Moxon Paperbacks Crime Series." An odd little book, with ads for a local brand of ice cream, and a design that evokes cheap postwar 1940s British paperbacks. Not in Hubin (1994). Faint, partial glass ring on front cover, light wear to edges, a very good copy of a scarce curiosity. (#118030)
