Illustrated price-clipped dust jacket. Profusely illustrated from wonderful period black and white photographs and one color photograph by Max Yavno. Technical photographic information on pages 116-119. Green cloth. 6 3/4" x 9 3/4". Neat bookplate on front pastedown. A marvelous collection of words and pictures describing The City in 1948. From the jacket, "There have been lots of books written about San Francisco, some fact and some fiction, but there has never yet been a book about The City with text by her most popular journalist and illustrations by a famous photographer." Both now, sadly, gone forever. A Near Fine (minor edgewear) copy in a Very Good Minus jacket (considerable chipping at spine-ends; edgewear).
