Laid in is wonderful 12 line letter by Bill Jackson on his Four Ducks letterhead, the noted fine printer and here the lithographer who comments on the ink of his design. Very nice for the student of fine printing. The story of the legendary and hopefully mythical bookseller (probably book collector) who showed his treasures including items signed by Homer to Pindar, Virgil to Augustus Caesar and, of course, the two stone tables he claimed were first editions of Moses signed by God. However, on the last case the wise collector noted that the true first tablets had been destroyed so they were actually only the Second Edition. A delightful book beautifully printed with the linocuts by Bill Jackson whose masterful works at all levels in fine printing make this a lovely treasure. Printed often by various book collector clubs this is the most exquisite and limited to 150 copies of which this is number 35. Printed on dampened Rives paper and designed by Neil Shaver. A fine copy with pastedown label on ¼ brown cloth over marbled paper boards.
