About This Item
New York: Grosset & Dunlap, Inc., 1934. Not stated. Hardcover. Good/poor. Unpaginated, illustrated with handsome blue border and black and white photos and drawings. The answer to Virginia O'Hanlon's question in the famous editorial of the New York Sun. Also a foreword by William T. DeWart and a message from Mrs. Virginia O'Hanlon Douglas. Blue paper spine over white illustrated boards with blue titles, illustrated end papers. Yellowed clear mylar over cover makes it a bit hard to tell about book, but it appears that boards are tanned and maybe a bit scuffed with edge wear, corners and spine ends a bit bumped, bookseller's stamp "From Alfred Williams & Co., Books and Stationery, Raleigh, N. C." on front fixed end paper, some suffing of end papers with small nicks, interior pages bright and clean, binding tight. Illustrated dust jacket with white titles on front cover is badly chipped at spine, creased at top of front cover, a few short tears, stains, tanning, not clipped.

About Scraps of American History
Unique bookstore in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. We specialize in vintage and antiquarian volumes with an emphasis on history, but carry books on many subjects. Currently we are building a catalogue from a large collection. We have been members of Biblio.com since around 2001 under the name Greenberry House. Our descriptions are detailed and careful and we try to note every flaw. ALL of our books are photographed and show you the exact item you will receive. We ship within one business day of receipt of orders and generally do not add shipping charges to the amount on your original invoice.
