Original black cloth-backed metallic boards, spine lettered in gilt, front cover decorated in green, black, and grey, pictorial endpapers. Frontispiece and coloured illustrations by Gilbert Rumbold throughout. Text printed in red, blue, and black. Stamp 21 February 1931 to rear pastedown. Slight loss to gilting of spine, light wear at extremities, some rubbing, short split to rear joint, scattered light foxing and finger-soiling to contents but cleaner than usual. A very good copy. First edition, first impression, with the paginated prelims and tipped-in Bacardi cocktail slip to p. 25. It features 750 of the most popular recipes from the legendary barman Harry Craddock, together with elegant art-deco illustrations, and anecdotes behind the cocktails.
