The oil and gas supermajor Royal Dutch Shell was formed in 1907 when the Royal Dutch Petroleum Company and The "Shell" Transport and Trading Company combined. The "Shell" Transport and Trading Company was formed in 1897 by the Samuel brothers and they choose a shell for their company's emblem because their father had run an antiquities business in London selling imported decorative sea shells. This book was published for the 60th anniversary of the company. It contains non-fiction essays by 8 different authors on sea shells. With numerous full color photographs. Book is clean with no previous owner marks. Bottom of spine gently bumped. I bought this book from a retired Shell employee. Ships same or next business day well protected in a box. Oversize book - priority and international orders will require extra charges. ; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 135 pages .
