[viii], 741 pp. "An exhaustive extension of Skinner's 1930s work on reinforcement. It is now clear that intermittent reinforcement constitutes an important condition of action. By the manipulation of schedules, a wide range of changes in behavior can be produced, most of which would previously have been attributed to motivational or emotional variables." - Introduction. In 2002 a study in the Review of General Psychology declared Skinner the most eminent psychologist of the twentieth century. This copy appears to be a 1970s reprint of the 1957 first edition.
