A first edition run of 15 volumes (1857 to 1871) , (No. VI through No. XV) .1857-1866 published by David Guthrie and John Menzies. 1867-1871 published by William Blackwood & Sons & edited by William Thomson. Condition of 15 volumes: 3 rated G+ (2 due to scuffing on boards & 1 due to rubbing at spine head) . The other 12 volumes are VG & have light scuffing. Each annual volume of the Gardener Magazine contains an index and 12 monthly issues . Charts, tables & engraved illustrations. Half leather over various clean marbled paper covered boards with leather labels and gilt decoration. Page edges dyed red. Bindings solid. Some volumes are foxed mostly on the first or last few pages. Original owners initials & numbers inside front cover on upper cornera. Botany, Horticulture, Floriculture; Engraved Illustrations; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 7582 pages .
