Rarest and most desirable edition of the first complete, and still the best, book on scrimshaw. This is copy #25 in the author's personal edition of 150 copies. Custom bound in full red morocco with a 4x4 inch carved sperm whale plaque inset in front cover, with the copy number "No. 25" carved into the whale's body. This limited edition contains five additional plates of erotic scrimshaw. Signed and inscribed by author. Flayderman’s book is out of print and scarce in all editions. This copy is in fine condition. The last copy to appear at auction sold for $4500 in 2005.
