Pictorial blue cloth stamped in white, blue and orange - Sailor with fist on front. Top page edges gilt. Frontispiece plus 5 plates printed on slick paper. vii, 366 pages plus 3 pages of ads at back. Front and rear endpaper split at hinge. Hinges tight. A little wear at corners of binding. A few small hits on back cover. Publisher's name faint at base of spine. Spine faded some. A few small stains. A little loss of white lettering and several small gouge marks on front. Scarce. no jacket. Good condition..
Synopsis
The Sea-Wolf is a 1904 psychological adventure novel by American writer Jack London about a literary critic and other survivors of an ocean collision who come under the dominance of Wolf Larsen, the powerful and amoral sea captain who rescues them. Its first printing of forty thousand copies were immediately sold out before publication on the strength of London's previous The Call of the Wild.
