About This Item

New York: Viking Press, (1967). First edition. Oblong quarto. Unpaginated. Color illustrations after Yashima. Publisher's cream cloth with blue spine lettering and a blue kanji on the front, patterned endpapers. Upper tips a bit bumped and a small transparent stain to part of upper front board. A very good copy with a fine original drawing. Tato Yashima inscribed the half title in 1967 and next to it is a color drawing of a village fisherman with his Yashima's red seal on the bottom. A lovely original drawing by Yashima.
