About This Item

London: Eyre and Spottiswoode, 1935. First Edition. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. First UK Edition. Publisher's dark pink cloth lettered in black to the spine. A former owner's neat name and address details to the front and rear pastedowns otherwise a solid VG copy with bright and clean boards. The VG dustwrapper is priced 7s 6d net to the inside flap (as called for) and is slightly toned with some small nicks and chips. Golden age detective fiction title by John George Haslette Vahey a prolific writer who wrote under various pseudonyms, most famously perhaps ‘Vernon Loder’ and 'Henrietta Clandon'. Scarce title, particularly in the striking dustwrapper. "A lot of action, a little propaganda and everybody gets their dues, it’s an old fashioned thriller, good enough to read (Good Reads)". !Photographs/scans available upon request.
