Glasgow: William Collins, Sons And 1866. (4to) 775pp. Very good, no dust jacket. A hefty tome in full brown leather with bevelled edges, decorative gilt borders and spine sections, and design in blind in the center of the front and back covers. All edges gilt, coated yellow endpapers, portrait frontispiece with tissue-guard, printed on double-column and with page borders, 100 drawings on wood and 20 drawings in chromo-lithography. The covers are a bit scuffed, the inner hinges cracked, and a handsome gift inscription dated Xmas 1866. The book is solid and internally clean. Contributors include George Cheever, James Montgomery.
