About This Item
Near fine group of three volumes (of 4) of the Selected Works of Mao Tse-Tung (Mao Zedong), published even before the "Little Red Book" Off-white wrappers show only very slight edge wear at spine ends. They are additionally in wrap-around dust jackets in very good condition, with some edge chipping, cracking and age darkening. All appear unread. Cloth ribbon bookmarks sewn into each volume. Photo frontis portrait of Mao in vol. 1. The upper corner of each ffep has a 2" piece cut out, perhaps where a previous owner's name was written or some other mark.
Overall these volumes are in excellent condition for paperbacks of this vintage. Uncommon to see multiple volumes together.
Mao Zedong (1893 – 1976), also known as Chairman Mao, was a Chinese communist revolutionary who was the founder of the People's Republic of China (PRC), which he ruled as the chairman of the Chinese Communist Party from the establishment of the PRC in 1949 until his death in 1976. Ideologically a Marxist–Leninist, his theories, military strategies, and political policies are collectively known as Maoism.
