Slightly later brown buckram cloth with gilt lettering to the spine, a little rubbing otherwise very good; contents clean and tight; engraved armorial bookplates of Horace Monckton to the front end papers [English lawyer, fellow of the Geological Society and fellow of the Linnean Society], pages clean and crisp, no foxing, slight spotting to facsimile plates. London: Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme, Brown and Green, 1824. Hard Boards. Poor/N/a. 8vo - over 7Â¾" - 9Â¾" tall. No Illustrations. Vol 1 only. xlvpp; 371pp. A poor copy of this publication (1824) though the textblock is complete. 8vo. Missing front board and spine strip. The rear board is half leather with marbled paper covering and has rubbing mainly to the periphery with rounding of the corners and some loss at the edges. . End papers have creasing and tears to the corners. Several page corners have also been turned, with resultant creasing. There is a red ink stain to the tail of the latter half of the textblock - affecting up to a quarter of the page in some places. Still readable.
