A little foxing to edges, endpapers and outermost leaves. Very good condition. Molteno was a son of the first Cape premier, prominent in shipping between Britain and the colony, and a defender of the Boer cause in the Anglo-Boer War. He became MP for Dumfriesshire in 1906 as a member of the Liberal Party, and used his influence to promote full responsible government for the former Boer republics. .
