St. Louis, MO: Multiplex Display Fixture Co., [ca. 1915]. 4to. [8 pp (unpaginated).], which folds accordion-style in one large brochure. Colour-tinted photo illustrations, diagrams, green & black border lettering & Arts & Crafts decoration (very minor shelfwear), NF. First edition of this exceedingly scarce product catalogue for wall paper sales display fixtures, featuring Mutliplex display featuring metal framed leaves which pivot, open like a book being paged, and are sized 18 x 48 inches each; a Wall Extension Multiplex Display which can featured up to 50 wings, or leaves of 100 different wall paper treatments, as well as a version equipped with castors. A very nice lozenge photo of a beautifully appointed Arts & Crafts wallpaper showroom is included, and also advertising for Multiplex Wall Paper Easels for use as window display items. Founded in 1903, Multiplex Display Co. quickly became a large manufacturing concern in St. Louis, producing display cabinets, window displays, advertising, signs and more. These wallpaper display items were invented and patented by Crecelius (1857-1923), longtime St. Louis native, machinist and inventor at the beginning of the 20th century for the Multiplex Co., with patents assigned in 1913.
