March-Dec 1935. 216 pp. Four complete issues bound in black buckram, with covers bound in, title gilt on spine. Includes a bibliography of the Rev. John Murray's published work and detailed accounts of Murray's pastorate in Townsend, now Boothbay. It was Murray who pursuaded British Commodore Collier not to burn down Townsend during the Revolutionary War. Murray was later the chaplain to the Penobscot Expedition and the British put a price on his head. With index. From the library of Francis Greene, historian and author of the History of Boothbay, Southport, and Boothbay Harbor, Maine, the definitive history of the Boothbay region, which has a full account of Murray's activities. According to an introductory note, Greene discovered the manuscript of these records, and it was his typewritten transcript that was used for this publication. With Francis Greene's bookplate on the rear pastedown and his notes in pen on the ffep. The binding is GVG with some scuffing to cloth, the journals have some foxing to pages else VG.
