Many came thru but only a few intrepid souls stayed. The Jicarilla Apache were among those who lived in the area, others receive detailed information and historical research including the artists Hugo Pohl, Lou Morhaute, Camp Stanley and Commander Tommy Tompkins, family cemeteries and many German families like Aue-Seele, Duerler, Altgelt and many ranchers like the Green, Fenstermaker, Mavericks, the famous shooters Plinky and Ad Toepperwein, and so much more of interest.
