Morgan Chapel, Boston: Self-published, 1875. Originally published 1874, this is the "6th Thousand" 1875 Testimonial Edition with an extra chapter. Includes frontispiece portrait engraving of author along with an illustrated half-title page. VERY GOOD. A clean, unmarked copy in bound green cloth over beveled boards. Cover is decoratively stamped and titled in gilt and black on front board, ornate gilt titling on spine. Pages clean with occasional small spotting, edges dusty. Cover is lightly shelf rubbed, some fraying to cloth at spine ends. Binding is tender but intact, front hinge with crack at bottom, rear hinge endpaper cracked, both hinges remain firm; there is a slight lean to the spine. The autobiography of Methodist minister, Henry Morgan (1825-1884). Morgan was pastor and the property-owner of the Morgan Chapel, First Independent Methodist Church in Boston's South End. 4-3/4 x 7-1/4"; 470 pages. Decorative Cloth. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo.
