Light edge and corner wear with some foxing on the covers; previous owner's name on the upper right corner of the front panel. Unpaginated programme for the 1948 festival featuring black and white stills of the actors and black and white stills from: The Merchant of Venice; King Richard II; Romeo and Juliet; Pericles, Prince of Tyre; Measure for Measure; Love's Labour's Lost; Cymbeline; and Marlowe's Doctor Faustus. Also contains a colour costume design by Rosemary Vercoe for The Taming of the Shew and a colour set design for The Winter's Tale by Motley. Also included with this are the playbill from The Tragedy of Hamlet, printed for the 1948 festival production in which Robert Helpmann played Hamlet, Anthony Quayle played Claudius, Diana Wynyard played Gertrude and Claire Bloom played Ophelia. Also included are a small tourist brochure for Stratford-upon-Avon with a street map on the final page; a pamphlet entitled Shakespeare a Course for American and Dominion Teachers at Stratford-upon-Avon 14th May to 18th May 1948..
