Deckle edges lightly darkened from age otherwise clean throughout. Boards lightly rubbed with some dust soil. Leather at top 1" of front hinge starting to crack, binding unaffected. G.P. PUTNAM'S SONS. Hardcover. USED Poor. Two volumes Surrey Edition G. P. Putnam's Sons 1896. Gilt over navy blue. First volume has a loose title page and Contents page but all pages do seem to be present. Cover and spine of second volume only attached to the pages at the back where it may also come loose. The flyleaf is loose with an illustration whose guardsheet is missing along with the volume's title page. The first attached sheet is the Contents. Some of the illustrations are missing their tissue-guardsheets.
