New York: Knickerbocker Leather and Novelty Company, n.d. (circa 1920). Very Good/The famous Knickerbocker set of Shakespeare, consisting of 22 plays and Venus and Adonis in 24 little leather-covered volumes, printed in diamond-point type. Not often encountered in very good shape, and even more rarely with a complete and functional box.. 8 cm; 24 volumes, Each volume with frontispiece portrait and miniature text. Each volume bound in leather stamped in gilt on upper cover and titled in gilt on spine. Marbled endleaves. Preserved in original black leather-covered box with snap closure, titled in gilt on upper panel. Box reinforced and restored to functional condition. All 24 volumes in very good or fine condition, without significant wear and certainly without internal blemish. A great set!
