Also on the half title page is a signed inscription by Jim Boardman, 'To General Sir John and Lady Elizabeth Anderson', 'A shining example to us all', 'In thanks for their kindness on my visits and all help,' signed Jim Boardman 1979. Jim, Captain C.J. Boardman, was the cousin of Alan Boardman, Peter Boardman’s father, who became Battalion Sergeant Major and then Captain with the 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards. He wrote two books about his career, Tracks in Europe on the Regiment’s time after D-Day and Tracks in Korea where the Regiment later served.
