New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1920. Second Printing. Hard Cover. Very Good binding. The second printing of Fitzgerald's debut novel. There were 3.025 copies of this second printing in April of 1920, the same month as the First Edition. There is a pencilled name on the front endpaper, dated in the month of publication. THere is a short pencilled note on the endpaper as well. There are no other marks in the book. The spine lettering has darkened but is still legible. (Bruccoli A 5.I.b). Very Good binding.

Synopsis

This Side of Paradise is the debut novel of F. Scott Fitzgerald. Published in 1920, and taking its title from a line of the Rupert Brooke poem Tiare Tahiti, the book examines the lives and morality of post-World War I youth. Its protagonist, Amory Blaine, is an attractive Princeton University student who dabbles in literature and has the book's theme of love warped by greed and status-seeking.
