n.p.: n.p., 1970. Fine. Black print on paper, approximately 10 by 24 inches. The print depicts a man in Arab dress astride a white camel and bundled against what T. E. Lawrence called the 'sand blizzard' in his Seven Pillars of Wisdom; this is clearly Lawrence of Arabia. Behind him and a little to the rear are his two servants leading their own camels, Daud and Farraj, neither of whom survived: Daud was lost in the dry quicksand, and Farraj was shot by Lawrence after an explosion maimed him. The print is signed on the bottom right by James Darum, This is an early work of Darum's, dating, according to his office, to the early 1970's; he is now a well-respected southwest painter. The print is in fine condition now matted in a maroon mat, approximately 16 by 30 inches.
